Local jeweller Barbara Shearer is running this taster workshop, using material called silver clay.
It’s a fine silver powder mixed with a water based binder to create malleable clay that can be moulded, textured, rolled and cut out. The silver clay is then dried and fired with a torch or in a kiln to produce a solid piece of metal (like magic). The silver is hallmark quality with a fineness of 99.9%, compared to sterling silver that has a fineness of 92.5%.
This class is a great introduction to silver clay and suitable for complete beginners. You can create a pair of earrings or a pendant within the 3 hours and have your own solid silver piece of jewellery at the end of the class!
Absolutely no experience is needed.
Create a unique birthday gift or a little treat just for you.
